Default Swimming Pool Problem

Whilst I was away my OH emptied the pool, re-grouted it and then re-filled with water. All good. Water looked crystal clear. Then he turned on the filters and put in the usual anti cal stuff and the water is now horrible. Very cloudy and on the bottom is thick cal but to me and I don´t know one end from another it feels really greasy. He has tried letting the water settle and then cleaning it but as soon as the filters are turned on bingo back to the same problem. Again it also looks like a film on top of the water. Can anyone help.

Hi

Is the film on top pollen? This year the pollen seems to have come suddenly and very heavily. I assume chlorine & PH readings are OK.

If the bottom seems greasy - do you mean slippery? If the pool floor has been cleaned with acid or similar, then it will feel different

No don´t mean slippery just if you put your finger along the step say it comes back with a white greasy film. Don´t think it is pollen.

we had that!! We got some stuff from the pool shop called.... eeeekk I cant remember...... "golden jelly"????? "Something" Jelly????! Its like a floculant and you put it in, leave it and the yukky stuff in the pool sticks to it. Then you hoover it off the bottom and aftewards put the filters on and its all gone!!! Sorry if that sounds a bit amaturish, my OH ans son did it the other afternoon and I didnt pay too much attention. I was far too busy watching them
