This sad bad world


Shall we take leisurely step back and have a close and protracted look at ourselves as a race of beings and at what point in evolution do we now stand proud and aloof surveying all before and below us?
In just a relatively short time in the narrative of this planet, the ‘Human race’ has certainly had an enormous and long-term effect, it has certainly left its impression ....But has it taken its eye off the ball?

Over many thousands of years; through searching, experimenting, exploring, trial and error, we have managed to achieve a proportionally large amount of errors, physically, psychologically, metaphysically and morally as opposed to our accuracies.

These errors are now acknowledged as such, as wrongdoings purely by the effrontery, shock and absolute horror of those of us who deem ourselves not to be of the ilk to perpetrate these actions; those of us who choose not to participate in these deeds which so offend what we ourselves have created as a benchmark to how we live our lives feel as we confront those who commit these offences. We ourselves through thousands of years of discussion, debate, argument and warring, have come to a loose but faintly defined set of rules and agreements on how we should conduct ourselves for the very little time we spend here. Granted, there will always be the exceptions to the rules....But so many?

We stand at the edge of man made and natural battlefields and peer on as millions of fellow humans cruelly suffer and perish without more than a token gesture to assist unless there is something for others to gain. We blunder into and without remorse decimate peoples and places on the whims of a few. We punish individuals for small and insignificant effronteries and crimes against our benchmarks, we create petty, shallow rules and regulations whereby more inconsequential and minor penalties and remonstrations are levied against the many but ignore the few known perpetrators of crimes and aberrations so vast, so immense that the whole world trembles due to their actions.

We have tribe battling tribe empowering their conflicting beliefs across the globe whilst millions are left suffering in their wakes. We kneel and fawn at the altar of excess and venal thought. We admire, champion and reward those who have taken from the masses through deception and stealth, without thought or regard.

From tip to toe, top to bottom, in all walks of life, from the highest regarded bloodlines in the world to the hallowed corridors of political and financial power, from the very echelon of legal propriety to the consecrated palaces of those we have elected to wield the rules and guidelines of religions we have developed to keep us on the right path, the straight and narrow, the true and righteous way. They are all riven and tainted with the ugliness of venal personalities.

And still we continue to blunder our way through this labyrinth of time and space, allowing ourselves to continually commit these violations against each other... We are utterly oblivious to the fact that the solution is quite simple to the gigantic mess we have made.....We may be blind to the answer...But there is something that’s not...Mother Earth herself, this very planet we are slowly ripping apart trying to justify a brief visit here......I think she may be nearing the limit of her patience....

Life’s little revolution

When this world around you crashes burns and dies
Don't forget the names of all of them that told so many lies
Never a truth was spoken as they ripped away your soul
Then walked from you unspoken; lost in a deep dark hole
They took away your income then made you pay some more
They took away your savings, they wouldn’t say what for
They stole from you your freedom or what was left of that
They took away your dignity, smiled and then laughed at
What was left of someone, who once had stood so tall?
Erect and proud and honest, heading for a fall
They took from you the anger that burned so deep inside
They took from you your splendour they even took your pride
They left a shell so empty, so weak and quick to crack
A shell so quiet and shattered, too feeble to fight back
But when the day arrives for bills accounted for
Be you rich as ‘Midas’ or the poorest of the poor
There is a debt to pay you know, a note to be handed in
Which lists the merits of your life and the evils of your sin
So as you reach the end of it, wonder what it was all for
When you reach the end of it and you’re knocking on the door
Ask yourself who’s fault it was, where to lay the blame
Who to point the finger at, was it all a game?
So stand up as a real man would, stand up when you can
Stand up to these bastards, those who made the plan
Tear it up in ribbons, render it all a’flame
Then we’ll make another and start it all again........
