Partial to a bit of laphroig I must say. But the king of whisky is Lagavulin, and you get that here no bother. And Bunnnahabain (no idea if that's spelt right), Oban, Highland Park... You seem to find Glenrothes a lot as well, and you can barely find that in The UK.

Should be able to get a martin codax for 8 or 9 euros a bottle. Worth it though, on the odd occasion.

I tend to go for some of the micro, or specialist distilleries, Glenburgie is considered one of the 12 greatest malts, and if you look around a 10y malt should only cost about 15-20 quid.

It's a beautiful village and the castle that overlooks it is now home to the Protos bodega and museum. Nearly every restaurant serves "lechazo", the local nickname for Cordero Lechal (suckling lamb...mmmmmmm!!!!), and it has a very special recipe. Quite simply I've never tasted better lamb. Some places only serve this and nothing else!!!!!!!! The table wine they give you will more than likely be Protos.
Great day out, but better staying over so as to really enjoy the wine
