Spanish retirement
Hi
we are 2 guys looking to move/retire to Costa Blanca close to Benidorm. We're at the early stages ie still not committed to moving but giving it a helluva lot of thought.
We would prefer an area or complex or whatever where we could rent a property and build a good circle of friends and enjoy a friendly social life.
Biggest problem we have is finding suitable rental accommodation. We're looking for somewhere not too high up, prefferably with a communial pool and a short drive away from Benidorm.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

All those towns are close by to Benidorm. There are plenty of nice areas on the outskirts of Benidorm centre that are more on the quiet side. You need to look for long term rentals between November and March otherwise they become holiday rentals which are expensive. Most community areas in Benidorm have community pool areas. If you are thinking of driving into Benidorm on a regular basis you will find it very difficult to park in the town area in the summer months.
You need to be in your chosen location and ready to secure a rental property as they are snapped up within hours of becoming available.
You will find most towns have an expat community who enjoy their social surroundings.
If I can help you with specific questions about Benidorm please ask.

Thanks for that. We will be back in Benidorm again in April and will check out the areas you've suggested.

Re: Spanish retirement
Good idea to start by renting, but theres more to do if you intend to retire here and the situation is by no means clear as regards Brexit.
