Probably easier just to have no phone, no one is going to bother calling you if they have to pay a premium to do so.
A mobile would surely suffice, instruct all friends to text first and then wait for you to call them back.

I didn't see it, but I just saw something on the Beeb a few minutes ago.
We only have the fixed line because it is part of the Internet package that we have. All of our Phone activity is with our mobiles.
The idea is definitely appealing........................

I suspect he will have been a one off, the regulators are only supposed to give those numbers to someone who is a 'service provider', he seems to have slipped through the net. He also has a normal number for family and friends, so they don't get stung, it's only the cold callers.
