Re: Spanish Hospitals.....
I am afraid that my experience of the Spanish health system has not been so positive. A couple of years ago my partner started having chest pains and went to his GP. She made arrangements for him to see a specialist and over the next six months had a series of tests at various hospitals and clinics. We then waited and waited, going back to his GP a couple of times but she could tell us nothing. Eventually she made an appointment for the hospital at Villajoyosa to see a specialist. When we saw her she knew nothing about his tests but after a bit of running around said he needed to have stents and made an appointment. He went into Villajoyosa where they took him to Alicante to have the Stents inserted. There they started the operation , but then said he didn't need stents after all. He doesn't have chest pains now and we never found out what was wrong in the first place.

If it was it doesn't ' say much for the Spanish health care system if they couldn't figure that out.
It took a German hospital to confirm the truth, when we had to stop off there on the way back to Sweden. Having said that my own experiences here have been fairly positive, apart from once being refused treatment, getting back to topic. |
