Like the UK. there are plenty of scare stories about state care.

This poor guy was treat for indigestion even though he had been waiting for 9 months for a heart operation.

He's well supplied with reading material and has his laptop, but says he can't really be bothered with them and keeps falling asleep all the time. Obviously all down to his illness, the doctors are due to see him this morning so hoping to find out more about what's causing the problem.

Re: Spanish Hospitals.....

I was just sent by my doctor for a Gynae appointment....Just because they didn't have my notes from England. To get me on to the service rather than having any urgent treatment. The appointment came within a week, for a week or so later. I went in. got a full exam with ultrasound images and the thumbs up on that part of my health, and was out again within 15 minutes. The service was courteous..actually really friendly as well.

I don't even know if there are private hospitals round here. This public one is quite well known because it was built to service the mining population of Riotinto. Originally by the Victorians but this is a much newer building. I guess the 'roots' of this hospital give it a proud heritage. If every health service/department was as efficient as this we'd all be treated and all be a lot healthier.

See separate thread regarding the benefits action.
Suffice to say that the UK has been singled out for this action, whilst others doing the same are being ignored.

If people make the effort to actually read about the card on HMRC site they will find it states that "you may be charged", this can subsequently be claimed back.

The complaints refer to refusal to give treatment at a State hospital or clinic and that appears to have been clearly established.
