Sky ,Screen Cropped.

I was given a Sky decoder box which works fine except the edges are cropped , its missing around 5% left and right , its plugged into a 42" Plasma.
Anyone know why?

(God it's embarrassing to admit you've only got a 37" when the other bloke's got 42)

,I dont think its the TV as all was fine with my old Sky box.

I seem to remember from the days when I had a Sky box that there is a setting for aspect ratio and it needs to be set to wide screen mode.
Maybe it's that.

Services, 4, 1
change picture settings from 4:3 (normal old square TVs) to 16:9 -
16:9 is the widescreen mode.
(4:3LB is letter box mode)
you will also have to make sure your TV is set to widescreen mode also.
note not all channels on SKy are in widescreen so some hcannels will squash and stretch some programmes.
Check by using a channel like QVC of Sky / BBC News and look at the locations of on screen logos,.....
