Ask at the hospital, sometimes they have people to help there.

It would be very difficult to gain the help of an external interpreter unless there is a prior appointment with a specialist or similar. We found that the doctors would come at different times to talk to us so we found that it would have been impossible to have had help from anyone.

Many hospitals have an interpreter on the premises or members of staff who interpret for some of the doctors if needed so it would definitely be worthwhile asking as JDR suggests.
