Default Sky

Over the weekend we seem to have lost loads and loads of Sky channels especially 112 which we watch a lot.

Anyone else in same boat and if so are there any changes we can make on the Sky remote i.e. locking into another satellite or something?

Thanks, Mark.

Is it your own Sky card? ie. not through an agent? Do you have the new white card?

We have had no problems here.

What channels have you still got? Channel 112 is one of the very strongest signals. Are you getting any messages? What receiver do you have? It's possible that you have lost hi-band due to an LNB or receiver fault, or that your card has expired.

We have the 2.4 metre disk and the sky card is our own - we got the new card about 3 weeks ago and it has been working fine - we have the basic package.

We still have lots of channels i.e. BBC 1 and 2, sky news, bloomberg etc.

What we have lost - loads of channels, 112, 123 Bravo, 405 sky sports news, virtually all music channels inluding all MTV, lost virtually all kids channels such as Nick Jr, only ones left seem to be CBBC and CBeebies.

Thanks for replies so far - wife is giving me stress!

So you have lost the pay channels but still have the free ones. What receiver are you using? Can you still watch Sky news (501) and BBC News (503). If so this eliminates any problem with the box receiving hi-band. If you can't get those it is the receiver or LNB at fault. If you can it sounds like a problem with your subscription.

Seen this a few times before.

You will need to get in contact with sky to sort it out, as it is a card issue.

A few cards have been behaving a bit odd and coming up with this message, mainly on Sky+ boxes.

This may help others in the same boat - calling Sky from Spain now seems very difficult - I've been trying their official 0844 numbers with no success - my telephone provider here in Spain - Europa - tell me I can't call a 0844 number from Spain.

A whole succession of old call centre numbers (01506) that I found on the Net don't work anymore.

So from what I can tell the only way is to use a mobile (very expensive) or I read perhaps Skype is an option.

If anyone knows any different please let me know.

Mark

Apart from VOIP such as Skype, which works fine, the MySky account option which has been discussed before allows emails to be sent direct to Skyto sort out account problems.
