Hiya everyone so me and my partner and my daughter have been living in Spain for 5 years now and are residents. My partner is a autonomo has has been for years and gets a sip card for him and my daughter as he pays taxes etc. However I do not work here my partner is the sole incomer as the school hours are very little and I would pay someone to have the daughter exactly what i would be earning without petrol etc. They are completely covered with a sip card however every year I buy private health care as we were told as we are unmarried I cannot be his beneficiary and cannot receive a sip card. However we have been together for over 10 years and the private health care is getting so expensive any ideas ? Or can I claim a sip card even though we are not married but have a child together and complete my own our home 50/50
thanks so much maria

I hope the person telling you this isn't anyone official, you're a pareja de hecho. Doesn't matter if you've got a certificate or not as you've been living together for more than a year, although without a certificate you'll have to prove it with empadronamiento, bank statements, etc...
I'm pretty sure your partner should nominate you as a dependent with Seguridad Social:
Todos los trámites para dar de alta a un beneficiario a la Seguridad Social
Then you might also need to get a certificate from Seguridad Social proving you're allowed healthcare, but you might need to wait a bit for your partner's application to go through:
Asistencia Sanitaria Pública: comprobación del derecho
Then you should be able to get a tarjeta SIP once you're set up as a dependent of your husband and you have the paperwork proving you're a paraja de hecho.
Well, I think it goes like this, if it doesn't hopefully it's something similar to this.

Completely agree with DLC because I have been in the situation where my partner's working status legally covered me to have a SIP card - one person legally working entitles the whole household to have SIP cards.
It was a long time ago and she was Spanish and did the paperwork so sorry I cannot detail the procedure.

Hello! I don't know if that might help, but have you tried to get a "pareja de hecho", that is like being married but you are not married as such. In fact by living together (for a while if I have understood correctly) you are already abiding to the requirements to be a pareja de hecho...? Worth checking it out??
