Lake Tahoe is a large, clear freshwater lake in the northern Sierra Nevada, with an elevation of 6,225 feet (1,897 m) and an area of 191 square miles (489 km²).[11] Lake Tahoe lies between the main Sierra and the Carson Range, a spur of the Sierra.[11]

This is the Spain forum. We are talking about the Sierra Nevada in Granada, Spain, not in the USA!

Wouldn't it be nice if the Yanks could name there bits correctly, like Sierra Nevada 2, or Washington 2 as an acknowledgement that they came very late into civilization.

The Spanish call it Noo Yor And every blimmin' fiesta band does the same song. As soon as the band kicks up the opening few bars I wince inside. One of them even left the last 2 notes off each phrase.. OOh that was nasty!

We normally drive up in the morning but last season we stayed at the Hotel El Guerra for one night which is on the road up to the resort. Its about a 10 min drive to the slopes and given its low rating its actually really nice inside (great food too). It was much more relaxed than actually staying in the resort and significantly cheaper - though you haven't mentioned your budget which is the key factor up there.

Thanks for your hint. I do not have a budget as I have never been there and we have 2 kids 8 and 5 and we would like to go for a weekend and try skiing after 13 years spent in North Africa so we would like to show snow to our kids and even try do some skiing as my husband is a good in it. I guess skiing pass is exepnsive but we want to give a try¡
