Re: Sending parcels from UK
I had a stockpile of Yorkshire teabags that lasted me a year! I'm down to my last 200! Situation is now getting critical! Was just thinking about it last night and considering my options.... When Brexit threatens my supply of teabags, time for a council of war.... Most of the consequences of Brexit were trivial, but an interruption in the supply of teabags, please no....
I don't buy naught from Amazon but I do buy a lot from Ebay in the UK.
As you say best just sit back and wait for the dust to settle.
Would be very interested in hearing from anyone else and their experience with items posted from the UK.

Amazon UK don't really want to ship to Spain. They were cheap and polular before Amazon.es arrived. Most items on the UK site are way more expensive that the Spanish site if you take into account postage. account a record or narrative description of past events More (Definitions, Synonyms, Translation)

Getting desperate tea bag wise then. Think I'd be getting a bit jittery aswell.
The crazy thing is you can buy a bag of 1040 teabags from both amazon uk and es sites. But:-
Amazon es 59.99e plus 6. 90e shipping
Amazon uk £25.96 plus £17.92 shipping... Of course you can add more items and the shipping cost barely increases.

Do you like PG Tips?
They are on sale in quite a lot of supermarkets.

PG Tips are not even a poor second when compared with Yorkshire Tea!
Besides, that is off topic as this thread is about postage from the UK!
But thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Sending parcels from UK
Gave up with pg tips long ago. Used them for many years but the bags got weaker and weaker to the point where we had to use two bags per cup to get a decent cup of rosy.

This from moneysaver Spain today's newsletter;-
After reading multiple questions on online forums about the new duties on parcels delivered to Spain from the UK, and checking different sources, we've rounded up some useful info:
After reading multiple questions on online forums about the new duties on parcels delivered to Spain from the UK, and checking different sources, we've rounded up some useful info:
- Not all UK retailer deliveries will be subject to extra costs. Some companies have an EU-based delivery or storage system which means that your package will be shipped & delivered within the EU with no extra charges. You'll have to take a look at each retailer's website for full info. However some couriers are still asking buyers to complete paperwork, even if no charges are due!
- Know the current thresholds. Parcels valued at under 22€ aren't subject to VAT for the moment, but this is planned to change from 1 July. Courier companies will deal with the paperwork and charges for those valued at over 150€; they may add on a service charge too. Depending on the items, in some cases, the extra charges may mean it's not worth buying from the UK.
- Tell family and friends to be accurate when completing the customs declaration (description and valuation). Customs officials can inspect the contents of any package if they suspect that it does not contain the items shown on the declaration or the valuation is not correct.
- Buying from private sellers on Etsy, eBay, etc. Many sellers have decided not to deliver outside the UK, but if they do check what the full cost could be and who will deal with the paperwork
- Returns and exchanges. You will no longer be able to rely on the EU 14-day cooling-off period, nor use the services of the European Consumer Centre. However, some UK retailers may be more flexible than others so check the details on their website and take into account whether you'd have to pay for the shipping when returning items. Plus if you've paid any taxes to receive the original package, that's another cost to take into account.
- Delivery period. Avoid buying perishable goods (at least for the moment) as delivery could be delayed.
- Watch out for scams. If you receive an email or SMS that looks like it's from Correos asking for payment online to receive a parcel, beware! There are lots of scams around and the short URL in the message easily disguises a malicious link that will take you to a cloned site.
