what happened to all the money sent by the Russian Mineworkers ??
given to him in a brown paper bag ??
like Prescott he doesn't need all these houses and their financial support, the NUM is a shadow of its former glory after his efforts
what happened to the UDM ??
Coming from a large mining family I can say I have no objection to any/all help, support and benefits miners should get.
My cousin was an occupational nurse specialising in miner's ailments and some of the stories are
But Scargill, like many other senior union leaders, has had an easy street, funded by a dying breed, a group of men who gave their health to bring a wage home.
Meanwhile Scargill has managed to outlive most of his contemporaries.

I can't believe he has a flat in the Barbican. I stayed in one of the flats for a couple of nights courtesy of my company, it was super luxury plus. I could look down on St. Paul's cathedral from my bed ! Rode down in the lift with Fiona Richmond in the morning (no, nothing).

It may be unbelievable nowadays, but there was a credible movement in the 80's to replace the Queen with Arthur Scargill as President. This was of course pre-Maggie.
