Here you go: an extract from Monarch's FAQ page.
Is there a charge to use online check-in? Online check-in is free to customers who have paid for pre-allocated or extra legroom seats. If you have not already pre-allocated your seats before checking in then you will be asked to do so during the online check-in process. By choosing your seat in advance you can ensure you sit together with family/friends and there is no need to rush at the airport. You can also take the opportunity to upgrade to extra legroom if you wish. Normal seat fees apply |

Re: ryanair
So, back to Ryanair.
Hows it working now. I'm off in October with them. I have a hold bag this time. Presumably I will be printing my tickets and boarding passes off ... where do the bags go now?? And ..... I know I'm being lazy ..... can we take hand luggage bags on the plane as normal as well as the hold bag? |

Re: ryanair
You can put more bags in the hold but the prices are going up, from October I think it is somthing like £20/£30 for the first on and then for the second and subsequent bags it is somthing like £70 per bag. :frown:

If there is more than one person, it will be the B pass that has the hold luggage on it that you will have to show at check in. 1 hand luggage per person but it must fit in their little measuring device. |

Re: ryanair
I saw an article yesterday stating that Ryanair was making an extra 548 million, Yes, five hundred and forty eight million pounds a year, out of its little extra charges like luggage in the hold and other perks.
A nice little number no doubt. Should go a long way towards paying his fuel bills I would have thought...... |

Ryanair place all large looking hand luggage in the measuring frame at every UK airport. Last time I came through Malaga they checked any 'suspiciously' large looking hand luggage as well. Do not think you're safe if you have a small carry on case - ryanair's max size is smaller than many airlines.
I'm going to try not to fly with them again if they've made the carry on luggage maximum size smaller. My only carry on case is the exact dimensions of all the other airlines maximum size and is perfect for short trips. The amount of money they are making is obscene, but I guess you have to admire Michael O'Learly for being so totally upfront about it. He admits freely that he's in it for the money and doesn't give a toss about his passengers. |
