It's quite simple. If enough people think like you do, JR and RB will become unemployable. Problem sorted. If tho a lot think he is funny and don't share your moral outrage, they will go from strength to strength.
To say comedians can't be funny without resorting to abuse is absolute rubbish as there have been loads of examples to the contrary over the years.

In any event I am certainly not saying that all comedians should have perfect morals and I have seen loads of really good ones who have gone close to the line or occasionally crossed it a little.

These are a long way removed from those who deliberately and thoughtlessly abuse simply for the sake of it, regardless of the harm and hurt they must surely realize they are causing, if they have a single brain cell between them.

It's not a new openness. BM & JM just come across as stale.

As I say, if your take on this is representative of the majority, you will prevail, and JR, RB and so on will all go out of business.

If you represent a small minority whipped into a froth by that ghastly rag the DM, then JR & RB will continue from strength to strength, and that's a simple fact.

I don't care about the money or their contracts. Just think they are both crap as entertainers and personally. I wouldn't call Brands type of humour jokes. However, the majority of the country wants crap so they are fed it.

Prithee, where did I say that? Where did I say that comedians had to be crude to be funny?

Many commedians push the envelope, and sometimes they go a bit far. That's how it works.

The worst crime they committed that day was to be terminally unfunny.

As I say, both RB & JR have the ability to be funny, it's just a shame they can't work to the top of their act more often.

just about sums it up - nicely

instead of telling us how many people are supposed to have watched (something that cannot be proved as it is done by distorted percentages) why not tell us how many didnt bother to watch, (using the same distorted percentages)

We will likely never know the true figures and can only attempt to judge their popularity from whatever dodgy info we are fed thru the media or from our own personal contacts and opinions.
I have long ago lost count of those I have met who have referred to the pair in question as a load of rubbish or a total waste of space,etc.etc. blah, blah, blah.
Those who I have heard support either their acts or their transgressions I could probably count on the fingers of one hand and still have a few to spare.
Possibly I move in the wrong circles to paint an accurate picture, if so I prefer to continue doing so.

I couldnt get a full handful either, perhaps if we combine we might manage it.

Must admit to watching Brands antics - just the once for couple of minutes and then remembered the channel change button, cringing that someone could actually think they were funny.

Must admit to watching Ross, but found that he either never read the research provided for him or just wasnt interested in the people he was interviewing as they hadnt been selected by him. He just seemed to be out of his depth, which is probably why, like Evans, he enjoys radio where he can fill the studio with people he can bounce things off, people who reflect his wittiness back at him but we cant actually see them "performing",

sorry, have no time for 2 people who before the Sachs affair I had already shelved as talentless, bringing them together gave us a double dose of that talentless.

it just makes me so annoyed that public money is being spent by people who are promoting their own whining and dining partners, coming up with silly figures to impress on other lovies they have found the answer for the next decade.

and I will say it again. If people don't watch, they will disappear. If they don't, then you are in a minority of righteously indignant Mail readers.

No doubt if the filmed live executions or ppl. getting their hands chopped off, there would be folk queuing up to watch it, or I could mention trash American soaps,( not that ours are much better), big brother or Marbella belles which you are apparently watching again, despite describing how it makes you cringe.

I don't see what your point is, as you yourself prove that virtually any old garbage will attract an audience of some description and bring in advertising revenue.
