Right - wrong - wrong or right - patronising or not - politcally wrong or right- racist or not - degrading or not - bloody newsworthy or not.
I give up.
Once upon a time people more or less reasonably said what they were thinking - or exactly what they meant. And other people either put up with it, said their piece too or shut up. There weren't a hundred news and internet channels documenting every word.
England and other countries and their people are being picked to pieces for every tiny thing. Nobody has ever published the Italian banker telling me to **** off back home when I questioned a bank charge. Nobody has ever caught on camera the daddy of some kid berating me for speaking English in Italy and me defending myself and my life. It has never crossed my mind to try and sue the school because my kid fell over in a slippery playground.
I'm not even sure now what I want to say apart from the world and media has gone bloody mad

I have lived for 66 years and never known it any different apart from the schedule D notices we used to have. Same type of controversey with comedians in the 20s 30s 40 s etc. These people have well rehearsed acts they are not off the cuff comments and standing on a stage in front of an audience insulting people is hardly a one to one in the street.

Wasn't comedy in the 20s, 30s and 40s just that? Comedy? Meant for stage or theatre? Certainly not the lengthy and nit picking articles in today's press or gutter press. If somebody criticised sombody else's work in the past, it was just a criticism or an observation. Now it has to be given a title of racism or non PC or some such such. It would seem that nobody is allowed anymore to say "personally, I think it's crap."

Ah that was his pal jonathon woss, can't believe it, his contract was for 18 million quid to be paid at 6 million a year ! For what?..beats me.
Makes you wonder what sort of clowns run the beeb.
Exactly what Brand got or still gets I'm not sure, but personally I don't think the pair of them together are worth tuppence.

JR isn't hugely to my tase, but obviously a LOT of people watch his show or he wouldn't have got another contract.
I suspect people are so jealous of his 'pay' that they have to put him down. There's a lot of people out there got paid as much to make a series, and I'd rather watch JR, to be honest.

My understanding was that he was paid 6 mil to make a series. That doesn't mean he gets 6 mil in his back pocket.

Are we so devoid of talent these days that these are the best on offer ?
When I see the pathetic shower of todays so-called stand-ups, I wonder how much those brilliant natural talents from the old Comedian series and earlier could have earned these days.

It´s called taste or more to the point a lack of it. I did not realise that he was paid so much it makes the Guardian article mentioned earlier a bigger joke than it already was.

I see he has been at it again, an excellent idea would be for a couple of the hefty paralympic guys to take him down a back alley and sort him out. What a waste of space that man is he does not have in his whole body the skills and determination that they have in their little fingers. I have the greatest respect for these athletes, they have had to overcome so much and then an imbecile like Brand comes along and spouts on. I presume that he is a little short of the publicity and let´s face it there are very few that would stoop lower than him.
I know I should not but I get so angry at times.

The problem with people like Ross and Brand are they become legends in their own minds when in reality they are distasteful people.

Sir Brand, I may not agree with the nasty crap you are spouting, but I'll defend to the death your right to spout nasty crap.
I suppose I owe the past philosopher who said those words much more eloquently an apology.

So, why is all this spite directed at RB & JR ? They must draw viewers or they would never get work.
Jamie Oliver, because he has the wit to own his own production company makes a lot of money for producing what is basically 'just another cooking programme'.
Should he be criticised because he is getting all that money?

Anyone who is desperate enough to have to sink as low as that in the name of entertainment has got to be the ultimate pits of society.
I suppose it's also a fair insight into the workings of their sick minds.
There are any number of ppl making money out of boring cookery programmes but I have yet to see any of them sink to those depths of depravity.
