7 September: WINNER SCORE MARGIN France v Argentina FRANCE 32-18, 14pts 8 September: New Zealand v Italy NEW ZEALAND 54-12, 42pts Australia v Japan AUSTRALIA 60-3, 57pts England v USA ENGLAND 22-9, 13pts 9 September: Wales v Canada WALES 38-15, 23pts South Africa v Samoa SOUTH AFRICA 34-15, 19pts Scotland v Portugal SCOTLAND 42-8, 34pts Ireland v Namibia IRELAND 55-9, 46pts 11 September: Argentina v Georgia ARGENTINA 32-16, 16pts 12 September: USA v Tonga USA 22-19, 3pts Japan v Fiji FIJI 29-10, 19pts Italy v Romania ITALY 24-16 8pts Have to take issue with one thing though - surely the margin is irrelevant if you've picked the wrong winner? 4 pts margin, if you fancied Eng to beat Fra, still scores points even if Fra win by 4?? Er... no surely? Never mind - good initiative...... I'll be back. |

Australia have never lost to NZ in a RWC match Australia have won every RWC match they have ever played in the Northern Hemisphere Australia have won both of the RWC tournaments held in the NH Australia's biggest margin of defeat - ever - in an RWC match is 9 points. They will be ready, and assuming they can overcome the disgraceful decision to make them play Wales in cardiff, will come through the QFs against (probably) my lot, and then it's NZ again in the SFs. Refer above-mentioned stats. A ludicrously overrated Ireland to miss out from the 3-into-2-won't-go Pool D (the Argies will beat them, and may even surprise France tonight). France-Australia final - too close to call. And Australia has never had such a weak pack. |

Er... no surely? Never mind - good initiative...... I'll be back. Eng v Fra ENGLAND 22-18, 4pts If that is the result exactly I score 22 points - 5 for saying Engalnd win, 7 for correct margin and 10 for correct score. IF England win 26-22, I score only 12 points for getting the correct winning team and correct margin. IF France were to win 22-18, I could still score 17 points as the only part of the score I got wrong was the winning team. In a purists game, this last point would be scoffed at but I'm trying to make it as all-inclusive as possible. So in theory, somebody with little or no knowledge can still get on the leaderboard. |

No, Dean. It's there for people who may not know too much but can still score despite getting other parts of the result wrong. So...........

You may want to check some of your facts.
And Australia has never had such a weak pack. Australia's pack weak? It was just as weak, if not more so, in 2003 - didn't stop them getting to the final. They have an RWC pedigree like no other - they will be ready. They are going to the SFs - where my (correct) statistics will once again hold sway......... Over to you, Rugbymatt........ |

Which "facts" have I got wrong then? They are correct - unless you can specify which one is wrong?
