I think this thread was started ( no gone back to check page 1 ) for listing good places to eat. Your posts seem to be about bad experiences you have had in places people have recommended. Places are not always as we hope and sometimes nothing like the recommendations given. There is a well recommended bar near Ayamonte I will never set foot in again because of rude, lying staff. The food was good the previous times I had been in and the same staff had been excellent.

I thought I would start a new thread on restaurants in Ayamonte. Since we seem to be going off topic on all the other threads about good places to eat.
I will start off with the new Chinese that opened this week in Ayamonte, the only Chinese in the centre of town may I add. Called the "Asiatico" or something just as original!!
We were out on Saturday evening and just happened to walk past and decided to give it a go, big mistake. Lets just hope the service and food improves, could not have been any worse (and it had gone 12 and there were only 2 other tables in, so they weren't exactly rushed off their feet at that stage). The best thing was the bottle of wine which we ordered!! Maybe ok for visitors but I can't see the locals paying those prices. Another thing while I am on a roll, the waiters were obviously asian but from Portugal, with little knowledge of Spanish or English, so even Spanish questions left them bewildered.
Moan over, like I said maybe should give it another bash later on in the year but can't see their food improving or impressing the locals.

HI all. I bumped into my old friend George the other day who's wife owns the Pizza restaurant in Punta Del Moral, you know, the one opposite Sugar Reef. Well, good news guys as he told me that his wife has aquired the building what was the Beautique and before was the Argentinian in Ayamonty near Mercadona and is opening another Pizza/Italian restaurant there. She is planning to open in September and is currantly making alterations to the new builing. It will be a "Make your own Pizza Parlour". In other words there will be no menu as such, you just buy your Margarita base for around 6 or 7 euros and pay for your extra toppings of whatever you want and then they cook it. Thank you for some people having an ounce of business sense. If you want to find out more you can go to there existing restaurant and ask them in there.

Dancing is at private parties only, and participants must use a man-bag ....... maybe you would like to volunteer? Whoops, better stick to restaurant reviews !!

Are you sure George owns Bella Napoli. Thought Les owned it. Illiyana, Georges wife just used to work there. We were also told the news re The Boutique.

Just goes to show how the same story can have so many different permutations. I was told by a friend (who works at Cindy's) that Les is taking over the old Argentinian and that it will be 'fine dinning ish'. It will certainly be interesting to see what it does turn out to be, Bryony

Completely unrelated, but does anyone knows where to buy Strongbow in the area?
For him, beer is not as good so we need to find a shop that sells it.
Thanks in advance and sorry if this is not the thread to ask.

I'm pretty sure that the English supermarket on the poligono has it.

What a brilliant time we had at Luis's weekly Indonesian Evening yesterday. Not an empty table in sight and enough food to feed an army. There is also Sky TV available now so the Golfers were able to watch the US Open whilst enjoying their meal.
In the Winter months Luis is going to combine a Special Menu with Football at weekends, so you will be able to pop over the river and watch your favourite team & be well fed at the same time (just like being at home). Thank you Luis, regards Bryony.

I particularly liked the mango curry which with the hard boiled egg was excellent.
The chef is a local Dutch lady who has lived in Portugal for 20 years the last 12 in Monte Fransisco but clearly as many Dutch have has spent some time in the East Indies colonies to learn to cook that well.
Luis is so proud of his new TV SYSTEM a Meo box with over 400 channels including all the six Sky sports channels so last night we had first day of the U.S. Open on the big screen and Portugal beating England on the 42" screen in the corner.
Some tables had to be reset so it's best to book and don't expect a quiet evening the Esuri crowd were animated but the Dutch matched them so the volume was high giving a great atmosphere and a super evening for everyone.
Sunday's buffet lunch is also full so best to give Luis a ring.
With the decision to close at lunch except Sunday's the three theme evenings, Wednesday curry, Thursday Indonesian and Friday BBQ are sure to be busy so he is thinking of opening at lunch on Saturdays in the summer season but that is to be confirmed.
