Default Residents Tax

I know it's late...

I asked IPC for a P60 for my state pension, and they sent an IPC147 form with the amount of pension paid and a statement saying that NO tax had been paid... is this what my accountant needs??
It's for my 1st tax return.

Thanks

A P60 is pretty useless as the Spanish and UK tax years are different. You don't have to produce any income documentation. Work out the amount for the calendar year and just give him the amount.
If you haven't submitted it by now you will get a fine.

In the absence of any other documentation, your best proof of the amount of your state pension is your annual letter from DWP stating what your pension will be.

Maybe bank receipts would work for the OP?

From a 2024 US thread ...

I am currently undergoing a tax audit, with the Belgian FOD asking for statements from my diverse pension providers.

I recently spent 20+ mins on the 'phone with DWP; a very helpful person put the necessary stuff in motion, resulting in the below extract, received 20-odd days later by snail-mail.

Followed by the requested 4-weekly details (including Christmas bonus) but that's for me + FOD, not you lot.

I interpret this as their (DWP) IT systems are not yet up for it, so best stick with using the receiving bank statements for tax purposes.
Belgium FOD has subsequently accepted the receiving bank statement extracts as 'proof of income'; one would hope that Spanish tax authorities are equally aware of the lack of DWP statement.

As Fred has said no actual proof of income is required, it's trust based.

If you tell whomever does your tax return that your income for the year was €xxxx that's all they need.
