Hi again everyone
we arrive (finally!) In Alicante on the 7th August.
We will need to apply for the Residency and Alta Padron (we are both EU citizens living in the UK for the last 30 odd years) how and where do we apply for that and potentially is there anything else we need to be aware of, or need to do.
We have already secured a rental home for 12 months and I will apply for a driving test soon after.
Thanks in advance ☺

For residency you make an appointment with the Policia Nacional. You do that online. Some regions, for first applications, require you to go the foreigners office. Padron is done at your town hall.

So they will have to go to the town hall and explain why.
We did and it was marked temporary, once we had our TIE we went back.
Oh and the foreigners office in Alicante is not allowing drop ins. You have to have an appointment.
Collection of the TIE (its taking about 4 weeks ) is in a totally different part of the City. And don't go on Thursdays.

The OP says they are both EU citizens living in the UK, so they will be applying for EU residency not TIE as in UK citizens. They should get the green card and shouldn't need to attend immigration ?

Also, whilst I'm here, which is the best current account with the lowest monthly fee or no fee please?

The TIE is for third country nationals. If you are an Italian or other EU Citizen you should get an EU certificate of registration the green card. You do that at the foreigners department of the nominated Police Nacional police station in your area.
