Default Residency

Hi All,

I have just been offered a Job in Malaga by an old customer of mine and I am seriously considering accepting his offer. However I am a bit baffled about the process of applying for Residency.

I already have an NIE number but nothing more.

I will want to apply for residency but don't entirely understand what I need in order to apply? My potential employer has offered the job to me on either a traditional full contract basis or on an autonomo contract. Apparently it may be more beneficial to me tax wise to be on one rather than the other but I don't know if it will make it more difficult to obtain residency with one as opposed to the other?

Thank you in advance for your help.
