Doesn't matter the reason legally you are not permitted to drive a UK or any foreign regged car if resident with a Spanish licence.
Assuming you do make it to UK you will of course need UK insurance for it.

Sorry, but forum rules state that no-one can suggest anything that may be illegal, and you have been told that legally you need a UK address for the plates to be sent to. and, if you are Spain resident then you will not be able to bring it back to Spain and drive it on GB plates.

Who said anything about being illegal gees I love the people on these forums , but if you must know the car was brought to Spain for restoration work by a renowned porsche specialist here in Barcelona. The car has just been completed, the car is now going back to the UK after which it is being exported to New Zealand. Yes, I'm insured everywhere because I'm a registered classic car dealer and export cars all over Europe to NZ. Yes, I have a suitable license. Car was going to be transported back to UK however I'm taking the opportunity to drive it and spend time with my kids unless the fun police on here have something to say about it. Nothing illegal but you can delete the thread, I've got the info I need.

You may not like the fact that members point out the legalities to you but quite often it proves to be useful to the person asking a question as they may not have thought of that particular aspect of their plan. Read back through the replies instead of getting on your high horse. Shouting the odds will not make any difference. When you ask a question on here people respond in a helpful way and may point out any difficulties, it is called a discussion forum so that is what they should be doing and they should not be castigated for this.

One member has mentioned the fact that you will be driving a UK registered car illegally if you have exchanged your driving license to a Spanish one.
