Does anybody now when the railway will be coming to Chiclana, I read that it was already in the planning

It´s only a possible light railway link to the Cercana in San Fernando and very much at the planning stage at the moment, so years and years. But it will happen eventually unless the environmentalists object to the marismas being affected as Chiclana is becoming more and more a commuting suburb.

That's the key phrase. It may never even happen. Trouble is that when a plan is proposed certain people jump on the bandwagon and report it as fact.

We have the same thing here in Huelva with the ludicrous Lepe Airport plan (will NEVER happen). Unfortunately certain unscrupulous estate agents use this as a selling point.

The best one I've heard EVER I heard about only last week. Someone looking to buy in Morrocco was given a line about the imminent start of works on the Gibraltar-Morrocco tunnel The best part was that the fool actually believed it!!!!!!!

Hi Fortaleza,

Are you saying that the Huelva regional airport will never happen or just that it will not be located at Lepe?
Regards,

John.

It will not be at Lepe. That's a given. Will it ever be built in Huelva?????? Probably, but no time soon. There's a working company called Cristobal Colon who are the front for the airport but they have no office. It's not on the 2008 schedule for diputacion/junta approved works. There's general opposition to it as it is seen as unnecessary - curiously this opposition comes from the business community too, the very ones the supporters are saying it will benefit. Huelva tourism and, through Cartaya Mayor Millán, Transfers have been forging closer links to Faro, with it now being referred to in certain circles as Faro-Huelva Airport. There's no need for an airport here, there's really no desire. The Junta will take a lot of persuading

Hi Fortaleza,

I would agree with your thinking and suggest if it is ever to go ahead it would be sited on an existing aerodrome and the only one I can find on an old map of the area is just north of where the Huelva/Sevilla motorway junction is. About where the prison is now which may of course be the same place and then it would never happen because getting permission for a new airport would be almost impossible but to expand an existing one might just be possible.

Regards,

John.

They have been renewing the brdges, tunnels and tracks near us, alledgedly it is going to run along the coast as far as Cadiz.
There is a slight problem if you want to alight at Marbella, someone has built a little block of illegal apartments on the designated station. lol

The monkies are still advertising them for sale HERE
