The reason? - plastic and batteries - their production and re-cycling massively outweigh any possible benifits in emissions reduction during driving.
The higher "Total environmental impact" of the Prius doesn't surprise me. A newspaper recently drove a Prius and a BMW 520d to Geneva, including an additional 100 miles of heavy in-town driving so that the Prius could really cane the big, heavy, gas-guzzling, environmentally unfriendly BMW.

Needless to say that the BMW won, using just over 10 gallons of fuel compared to the Prius using just over 11 gallons.

It'll probably clog up your injectors.

I think the term is "Embodied Energy" or something like that. Best (greenest) form of housing is large-cross-section timber-frame constructions (green oak, etc - how they used to build houses) - apparently the stuff really does grow on trees!

What's going on. First we had 'Mitsy' now we have 'jurdyr'. Are we being infiltrated by mod clones?

Who's next - 'Frizzlepup'?
