Hi Helen....we had wind and rain when we were in Spain the last two weeks in Jan. We were in Benidorm. You are in the same position as us...wet and cold in England when we should be in Spain. Still looking for the sun

Well, the central area of the U.K. has just had the 2nd mildest winter since records began in 1914, with an average temp of ( in old money ), 41.8 deg F , the south had the warmest, ave. 43.8 deg F , and January was the 2nd warmest since 1914, so what more do you want from winters ? ?

Keep it up! Just keep it up why don't you!!
Here in Sunny Swansea (not! ) Raining, windy, cold! And what is REALLY anoying, is that the weather man now calls rain mist. Mist? Biggest drops of mist I have seen!
Anyway, I am glad someone is getting some sun. Just don't use it all up! OK??

Mind you, I suppose it is not as cold as normal for the time of year here. I was doing some gardening over the week-end, and I swear I managed to get down to only 4 layers of clothing!

jonsol, I blame the weather readers on the tv for keeping feeding you conversions from centigrade, you think after 37 years you would have the hang of it by now and use the real temperature. ;-)

Yes I agree. Why is it that our currency was decimalised in 1971, but that they didn't change weights, measures and temperatures at the same time.
Now heres a theory that's just occured to me, if they had converted the temperatures at the same time, maybe the temperature would have risen like inflation did then
Does anyone remember "the pound in your pocket"? And how the cost of living didn't go up. Stands to reason, that if the price went up by a halfpenny (that is half an old penny for all you youngsters, and which would have been the equivelent of 1.2 pence now) then how is it we were not paying more? Hummm
And how soon after decimalisation did they do away with the new 1/2 penny Hmmm, again.
Mind you, it is a bit of a party piece now, trying to explain the old currency to my grandsons, the eldest of which is 12!! They end up in hysterics!!
I am glad I serve some useful purpose in life anyway!!

It usually cools off in the evening, but tonight no fire and still in my shorts, but I have got a sweater on. ;-)

Ah yes with hair flowing and bare feet, silky sand slipping between red painted toenails. mmmmmmmmm.
I do drink water as well but Im saving it for the drought... hehe
I hear our water is nicely full and will last a while yet so no worries on that score.
Sunglasses to the ready.

I know what you mean, but we watch Anglia news and its only recently the girl has stopped converting to F, so perhaps they are catching on. ;-)

enjoy the hot weather and think of us still here in rainy windswept Britain
Can't wait to get over there to find this sunshine and hot weather you are talking about and then I can join in with the teasing
