RAISING MONEY ON PROPERTY IN UK
I live in Spain but own outright a property in the UK which is rented out. I need to make repairs and thought about taking out a small mortgage on my UK property. Phoned my UK bank whom I have been with for 25 plus years and because I am not a UK resident no go. Anyone any ideas? Another case of being too honest. If I had kept my UK address I would have been okay.

Try a mortgage broker. John Charcol used to be pretty good. I think they were taken over a few years ago, (either by B & B or Halifax or something like that) but it looks as though they might be independent again.
