Default Public Holidays in Summer

Hi. Could anyone tell me what the situation is regarding public holidays in the Costa del Sol region during the summer. We are looking to come out in July/August on a scouting/buying trip and need to apply for Nie numbers etc.
Can this be done duruing the summer months or does everything shut down?
Many Thanks
Nick

Hi Skippernicky,
Ooooh don't expect to get anything official on the move that time of year. estate agents will be working but it is not a good time to be wanting to sort out NIE etc.
Hope you have a good trip though, and all your planning works out well.
Good luck,
Eve

Thanks Eve. We already have an estate agent we are involved with so dont expect a problem there. We are looking to buy a bar we have already seen and sort out some rental accomodation. Would we be able to set up initial bank accounts?
Once again mabny thanks

August is a bad month, lots of places close down or work shorter hours through August, different regions have different holidays, but can find the National ones here

you will find that individual towns have different fiesta days.......it is said to be a fiesta day in spain every day - somewhere!

what the others said about everything grinding to a halt in August is correct - it is the national holiday time, so even 'official' places like the Ayuntamiento are on much shortened hours, and places like the courts actually close for the month.
