It may be better to gain the services of a court appointed translator rather than a lay person. Ask the police for their advice.

The police will guide you professionally through all this process, including a translator etc.
As I am not a lay person I hope you get the service you require and need.
Be careful if any of the judges look like Franco mind, all hell will let loose.

I will tactfully withdraw, all the best, no further comments from me.

Keith, I hope that you did not think that I was referring to you as a lay person. I was talking about the woman from the village as I have been told that often the courts prefer their own professionals rather than a well meaning local.

I had to attend a court once as a witness. It turned out that the translator was a cousin of the defence solicitor. He insisted on mistranslating what I was saying and spoke too fast for me to totally understand. In the end the Judge! who professed to speak no English corrected him.

Hi Keith, need some help again, update, my friend was called to go to the town hall and show more documents and to confirm she wishes to go ahead with the court proceedings, now she has to wait for a date. Can you let me know when will she be seen by the lawyer/solicitor provided for her prior to the court case?
