Default Probably an old question But.......

Hi everyone,

I asked a while ago about moving to a couple of areas in spain full time but for various reasons it doesn't look like that is going to be a viable option . We can however buy a "holiday home" and maybe use it for say 3 months in spain 3 in england 3 in spain 3 in england....Are there any reasons as to why we couldn't do this ie: Tax reasons, healthcare reasons, just too complicated with beurocracy. Also is it possible to hire a car for this amount of time...

As always any help appreciated.
Many thanks
Ray

Can't see any problems. You would need medical insurance but an annual travel policy would cover that. You can get some good deals on long term car hire off-season.

just bear in mind that if you are in Spain more than 182 days a year (not necessarily consecutively) you are considered tax resident

Perhaps you might consider buying a small runaround car and storing it in one of the airport carparks when not required. I have no idea how this would work out for you but I do know someone who comes over to two months every year and does this.
