Hi All,
We are moving from Australia to Spain but we are originally from the UK. My question is : has anyone any recommendations or anyone have private health insurance in Costa Blanca area?

Can you tell me, although you have come via Australia you onced lived in the UK - so do you receive any sort of benfits or pension from the UK?

Hi Bill,
Thankyou for your reply. Yes we are originally from the UK but are not retirement age yet so no we don't receive any benefits or pensions. We need private health cover as per the new legislation if we want to reside in Spain. I was looking to enquire if any expats have already bought private health cover and anyone could recommend any companies?

Sanitas has been mentioned regularly in posts on here.

My tip re health insurance is first find out which companies your local private medical practice deal with by calling in and asking their advice,
otherwise you could find yourselves signed up to a health company whose nearest available doctor is miles away.
As mentioned above sanitas come recommended by a lot of people but in our case our local private doctor does not work with them so we decided to chose one of the 4 others they recommended.

We use Medifiatc, they have always been excellent and we're able to use a lot of Dr's in our area Costa del sol. I can't speak for other areas but it's worth checking them out..

We have a policy with Medifiat and they have proved very good over the last tweny years or so depending on your age and any previous conditions. We did some reseach beforehand and this company came out top for us and the monthly fee is reasonable.
