I bet that you do not even know that the world used to spin faster back then, it has been slowing down ever since. :) Our children's children will be old when they are 10.

That would make a day shorter - not a year. There would have been more days in the year. A year would have been the same length as it is now - more or less.;)
but what you fail to understand is that the faster rotation, also helped to propel the earth faster in its orbit. |

LOL. Ooops, yes....recovery mode......think...think.......ah yes.......

I find the theory that the Holy Spirit is the feminine, compelling. Given that the feminine has been almost erased from Christianity, it is interesting to try to trace where it once could be found.
When "God made man in His image", as in Genesis, obviously the word 'man' included woman. So, yes. He's also a She!!! |

so where did Abraham, Sarah, Hagar, Isaac and Ishmael fit in with that lot??? I'm sorry, but whether you believe/follow religion or not, this all comes across as just stories made up to fill gaps that those of the time didnt understand. So Noah was well over 500yo when he built his ark then?????. I also find alot of the story lines disturbing and barbaric. Christianity should scrap the old testament and just start with the nativity - altho there are some barbaric bits in that too??!!
Jo xxx Unfortunately we're stuck with the Old as well as the New! After all, when Christ was doing His wanderings & quoting scripture, He only had the Old Testament to go on. So Christians have to accept both books as "gospel" as it were. Another thought to finish on, (& I see this post already is into its 9th page), The word Hell is almost never mentioned in the Old, but in the New, the one person who mentions it a lot is Christ Himself. In other words, He knew it existed. For me, that's sufficient warning. Not that it makes Christian living any the easier. |

Surely not a big bang. |

Ah, but who set it to tilt at 23½ degrees? It's pretty significant.

I think you are hinting at the amazingness of the hole in the ground to perfectly match the shape of the water that it contains after a storm.

Why not?
Yet the earth is positioned exactly where it should be. The chances of a big bang getting it right would have to be left to chance. Pretty dodgy I reckon. Half a million miles out or a couple of degrees either way of the tilt & we wouldn't exist. Why, even Genesis makes more sense, apart from to people like Richard Dawkins. |

Real Madrid are now playing Bayern Munich, 2nd half, so please excuse me. |

As I understand a bang of any sort, it's pretty chaotic.
