Okay so, I kinda forgot my bank card when I moved to Spain (yes, dumb I know) and it was sent to me on Monday the 10th via Airsure (basically Royal Mail, in the UK). It arrived today and I noticed something very funny in the tracking system. It took them 3 days (early hours of thursday morning) for them to send it to Madrid and then it took the Spanish postal service just 9 hours to deliver it to me in Galicia.

Good service on the Spanish side but what were Royal Mail doing in England??

The post is blimmin awful here! Some parts of Lanzarote don't have too much of an issue... and can get post in around a week from the UK. But the staff at our local "Correos" seem to think that mañana means next year! It generally takes about a month to get to us - if at all. Oh, and they don't deliver (despite us having postboxes in our complex), so we have to go down the office to collect. We've told people not to send anything via post now, until they sort it out. We just give them the UK address of whoever is next due out on holiday lol. Most of our contact is email and phone nowadays.

PS: Sorry I've been away again... been working like a lickle soldier! Ooh... 11 days and we'll have been living here for 1 year! And yes, we're havig a "bit of a do"! I'll be drunk of course!

Strange! I see the girl here riding her motorbike every morning (not sure about weekends, Sunday seems a no no for almost everything), delivering post.

Can anyone beat this ? Small parcel posted in Corte Inglese 11 a.m. Thursday and delivered to our son in Essex this morning 9 a.m. !!

Would also like to praise Spanish postman who delivers in our area, he is spot on, and seems to know EVERYONE, mentioned the other day that our daughter had moved and could he put her post in our box, and hey presto....done

***Fanfare***

Well, we've been here over two weeks now and *our first post has just arrived*!!!

No, it hadn't taken over two weeks to reach us. It's been sat in the back of the post woman's van for all this time.

She even told us off for not having put our house number and our name on the door! It's all our fault apparently...

Still, it's sorted now. At least *we* have post...
