Default postal speed

Hi to all,

How long, on average, does it take from post to arrive from Spain? Also, from the UK to Spain as well.

In my experience it varies enormously, anything from 2 days to 2 weeks.

I also think it varies, we have posted stuff on a Tuesday (noon pickup) and it arrived in UK Thursday 1st post.
When we first arrived years agho we sent some stuff from a Brit bookshop (special delivery or not) still waiting. lol

Don't worry - I posted one which didn't arrive in over a month so I had to cancel the cheque. Then it was returned to me with a stamp mark on the envelope which I couldn't decipher. The address was correct, also the postage, and it had even been to Spain!

It is worrying as you wonder if it has been intercepted. Cancel and put your mind at rest.

We are going to,it was a deposit for our villa when we arrive next month, but I sent a e-mail yesterday and asked if she had received it,no, so she said not to worry and cancel the cheque, its not very good at all though is it ,I have set up a sun-pay account, thats ok if you want to transfer money from our bank here to our bank in Spain (which we have not got yet) ,but we have yet to set it up so we can transfer money to any account and this is just the start of all the messing about

Pretty good in our experience; generally about 5 days either way - although it has been quicker on occasions.

Hope you sort it out and don't lose the villa because of the deposit.

Does the post depend on whether you live in a small village or a large town or city????? A bit like internal post coz it goes through more hands so to speak.

I think that it is more dependent on the weather. When we had the wet, misrable and windy weather we did not get any post for a week. Two packages that were posted a week apart in UK arrived at my house together.

Most of our post takes about three days if posted in Spain for UK and four or five days if posted in Uk for Spain.

Usually takes about 6 days from the UK, but that is to our BOX ddress, to our urbaanisation can easily be over a week due to erratic deliveries from teh Correos. From here we use a courier service, cost a little more, but delivery is usually about 3 days
