Default Pool cleaning.

Hi,
Over in a couple of weeks and expect to find the pool bottom to be under a thick carpet of gunge if so what is the correct method for cleaning.??? Last time I cleaned as normal with frequent rinses of the filter but always wondered if this was the right way.
Many thanks for any replies.

If it is that dirty then it is better to clean it to waste rather than filter it.

Obviously you will need to top it up afterwards.
