Default Permantly Exporting Vehicle From Spain

Does anyone know the process? Would you still be able to do the procedure through a gestor if you were selling a Spanish registered vehicle to someone who will be taking it out of the country? Obviously it would not need to be registered on the Spanish system in the name of the purchaser (no N.I.E etc), any help/advice appreciated.

You may need a gestor as you need to inform the ITV that you are exporting it or else you will end up paying the tax for ever!! , also the ITV will charge you !!

You need to have it taken of the register of vehicles. There is information here:-

You can download the form here

You will also need to tell the Ayuntamiento so that you don't have to pay road tax anymore.

You certainly don't have to tell the "ITV".

Thank you Fred, very helpful. From my very limited grasp of Spanish I get the gist of it and I assume that the safest way would be to do this through a gestor and then, if not in his remit, I could take a copy of the Baja to the Ayuntamiento to cancel any future road tax payments?

Using a Gestor is ALWAYS the best way but not the cheapest! That said the charges they make are usually very reasonable.

The alternative of dealing direct with Trafico is cheaper but usually infinitely more painful!

In my case Fred I reckon the Gestor saved me money by saving me some tax somehow. In any case I agree his charges were amazingly reasonable but then he goes to Trafico once with a dozen or so dossiers and is well known there, so is more efficient.
