You have not done such a bad job yourself on TIO.

That's just rubbish and you know it.

The irony isn't lost on me, though.

Here's the thing that gets me. I've had a look at some posts in the Siesta Time forum. There are interesting topics that come up in there, some not too dissimilar to things we talk about in the US forums.

We'd probably be able to get a few good threads going if we could all get past the stupid bickering and grow up a bit.

Re: PDT v TIO

This argument seriously confuses the hell out of me. There's room for both PDT and TIO to exist quite happily. As an adult I am more than capable of nipping in and out of the Aus boards/TIO/Lounge/The Trailer Park/PDT etc etc etc and either just reading or joining in. It's irrelevant to me where it is as long as I remember that if I go into The Sand Pit I may need to word things differently to how I behave in The Barbie and so on.

If I come into PDT (which I do on a frequent basis even if I don't post) I expect to see contentious stuff regarding life in Spain. If I go into TIO I expect to see contentious stuff regarding life around the world. Why can't regular posters in PDT continue posting in here whilst joining in with TIO? Why does it have to be either or for some people?

TIO has always been where contentious threads, from ALL forums around BE end up when they're not suitable for the forum they're in. Those of you who are complaining about SOME threads in here being moved to TIO should be happy you've got more people to argue with rather than being stuck with the same one or two people. Variety being the spice of life and all that.

The Barbie is where our Aussie friends talk crap
TIO and Trailer park is where (predominantly) our American friends talk crap
PDT is where our Iberian friends talk crap
The 'Sand Pit' is where our Arabesque friends talk crap

Why not bite the bullet and merge all these potentially contentious sub-forums into one.

The recent issues have opened my eyes and exposed me to posters from around the globe, personally I would like to hear tales about life and experiences in other countries.

As an example I noticed earlier that Sultan of Swing lived in Illinois. I know nothing about this State but would be more interested in a post about life there than going around in the usual race and political circles.

There is so much we could learn from each other through our shared experiences but why must it always descend into a bun fight?

Worldwide Crap?

It isn't a very catchy forum title, truth be told. Better turn that over to the Marketing Dept.

Meant to say - I live in Chicago at the moment. Happy to share any tales of Adventures in the Midwestern United States. Not that it's all that exciting.

Pinching Stuboy's listy but making a couple of changes.

The Barbie is where our Aussie friends talk crap
Trailer park is where (predominantly) our Brit Expats in America friends talk crap
Siesta-time is where our Iberian friends talk & should be able to talk crud
The 'Sand Pit' is where our Arabesque friends talk crap
The Sheep Dip is for non NZ chat & crap.
The Maple Leaf has had it's fair share of crap

The MBBTUK - which bizarrely is actually about all things UK - has the Rovers Return where crap could be exchanged

The Lounge is where everyone from all around the world can meet to talk crap , chat or have fun.

The Locker Room is for sports stuff.

Deep and double deep crap from any of the above crappolas is either moderated on site in some way or moved to TIO.

The TIO is for contentious threads but often, by that very nature ,is also for crap.

Spain is the only place that has had to have a corralled place , PdT, to contain extra crap .

Maybe there could be some threads in The Lounge from some of us about our respective lives in our assorted chosen countries.

Interesting you should say that. When I have answered posts on here which related to my 'other country' it often resulted in personal insults!!!!:(

Absolutely.

A thread is opened about an Indian topic - whether it's the dreadful story of the girls being raped and hanged or the woman 'honour' killed by her family on the court steps, you supply an Indian insight and are slagged off for it.

You seriously have to question some peoples thought processes.

It appears that unless you say exactly what they want to hear and nothing else you are completely wrong and should shut up.
