Default Parking Ticket

Back in July I returned to my parked car in Calpe to find a parking ticket on the windscreen. My fault, I hadn't seen that there was a time limit for parking in this particular area. Reading the reverse, I could see no method of payment described, just telling me I had infringed the restriction and listing the relevant legislation.
Not knowing what to do about it, I went the local Policia Local station and asked. My Spanish is not good but I think I was told I had to wait for something to arrive by post to me. Left with deep suspicion that this was not perhaps correct!!
Anyway, the rest of July passed as did August and in September we were away for three weeks. On return I went to my buzon fully expecting that by now I would have heard something, but nothing was there.
My question therefore is, what do I do next? Ignore it as I've heard nothing for so long or chase it up somewhere to settle the fine, if so where?
BTW, I looked around the area at the time to see if I could see a warden to ask and also to see if there was a payment machine where I could perhaps pay the fine into it somehow but I couldn't see either.
Any advice please?
Thanks.

Basically you have missed the discount period ( 50% in 20 days) but you can pay the fine in :

✓ The web page of the DGT if your Spanish is up to it
✓ Calling 060, again Spanish is needed
✓Any Banco Santander
✓ At the Post Office
✓ In the Traffic Office

Well, in a matter of speaking! Under Firma is a faint letter "K". Then below that Controlador 9 which I guess identifies something/somebody!
At the moment I'm following your advice and doing nothing, mainly because I don't know what to do!
Thanks for your response.

Thanks for that, as I've missed the discount period, I might just wait it out for a little longer!

Just went on the DGT site in English! Entered details in boxes including 10 digit reference number on ticket. Repeated error messages and the help section tells me the number has to have 12 digits!
Thought it was too straightforward.

I am sure that with your extensive knowledge of Spanish paperwork you thoroughly expected that as you went through each little hoop something was bound to block your progress.

It may be a cloned up ticket from a fed up neighbour/resident particularly as the issue number is invalid on the website. Only way to be sure is to ask a warden next time.

Looks genuine, but I don't know as it's my first (honest). Don't expect to be asking a warden any time soon. Silence is golden!

It depends on where you parked. If it was in a town on a yellow line or in a meter zone, the fines are payable to the Town Hall. If it was out of town, only then will DGT be involved for the offence of illegal or dangerous parking.

It sounds more likely that you come into the former category which is why the DGT site would reject it.

The parking in Calp/Calpe is controlled by a private company which has been instructed by the local council, I've never had one but i know towards the end of last year the company controlling there parking went bust so the parking (blue lines) was free, they instructed a new company in February or March of this year, as Fred has said the town hall will be the place to go

Thanks for the advice. It was near the main beach, so suspect it was the local council.
Will wait and see what happens!

Has anyone worked out what all the different colours mean in Calpe?
