Just a quick update.
For the kind person who asked about our house insurance, no we are not insured under that.
On a happier note, we have found a lovely place to live in Benitachell (north of Moraira) and we will be moving in tomorrow.
THe house is just what we were looking for and the views are to die for.
You have all been so kind with your remarks it certainly restores our faith in human nature. This also applies to all we have met here so far. Everyone has been very helpful. From our new bank manager down to the estate agent and the gestor.
WE should be fully online within the next couple of days, who said things take a long time over here?
It took us a couple of days only from opening a bank account, finding a property to rent, installing SKY TV and internet. Maybe a case of who you know not what you know.
Even our NIE number is taken care of and Shergar has´not got a passport!

Just goes to show that for every shit head you meet there are four more people that are ok & jolly nice people that are ready to help.

I've just read your thread and am totally shocked and angry that such a thing should happen to a lovely couple like yourselves 
I am so glad you have met up with some nice people who have helped you and you obviously still have faith in human nature. Maybe it would be a good idea to post a seperate thread warning newcomers to Spain of this possibility when travelling over.
British cars aren't the only target, a lady on the urbanisation we were buying on in Castalla was followed home from work some months ago and the car stopped in front of her, the driver got out, stood in the road and held up his hand so she stopped. He then walked over to her car reached in and grabbed her handbag and drove off at speed. She was shocked but luckily unharmed. The thing which upset her most was that there were personal items in her handbag which can never be replaced.
Hope you are both ok, you will probably still be feeling shocked so take it easy. Love to you both

Our bad experiance is now behind us and we have moved on quickly with our new life here in Spain.
After a few hectic days of applying for new passports.medical forms and the wife having to fly back to u.k. to sort things out we have finally got some sort of normality back into our lives.
Firstly our new found friend Geoff,spoke to his bank manager in the bank of Valencia of our plight and he asked to see us.He sorted many things for us and we had credit cards and check books within 3 days (who said things were slow in spain).Our gestor jackie helped us with our N.I.E and other things.
We found a beautiful house in Benitachell just outside of Moraira overlooking the sea.Our sky tv took 2 days to install and our internet and telephone installed today.not bad as we only moved in 6 days ago.
Maybe we have had all our bad luck in one instance.
Thanks to everyone for your kind comments it helped a great deal.We hope to thank you in person when the next meet-up crops up.

ur son phoned yesterday to tell us he is arriving on Sunday bringing our beautiful granddaughter Gabriella over to see us. We are so happy to be able to see her after just a few weeks of being here.What lucky people we are.is'nt life wonderful.
