Just had a bad experience with an optician in the UK. The lens seem fine but the frames/fitting are a problem.
As I'm coming over to Spain soon, I was thinking of getting a spare pair.
Question is, would my UK prescription be understood by a Spanish optician - ie are they universal? Alternatively could they tell from the lens?
Thanks for any advice.

Thanks Fred.
There's a local optician nearby and a Spanish Specsavers in Torrevieja. I'll check to see if there are any reviews.

I used the Specsavers in Torrevieja and whilst I found the service/attitude a bit strange from the general attendants the optician was (is) a very nice professional guy. I have just read their advert in todays (Spanish) paper - they have several places along the Costa Blanca.
I like that they do a full eye health check up, some Spanish opticians do not have all the equipment.

Is their service efficient? Just wondering how long ordering specs would take.

Took a few days but seemed efficient enough and of course sensible prices, especially if you get in on a special offer.

I got next day at Specsavers in Barcelona. I guess you would get same service in Torrevieja?
