Despite all the worries there was no delay getting to the Park having parked up in Thurrock. More amazingly no delay in getting out of the park to get home. Everything was like clockwork

I cant even begin to explain the noise that erupted on Mo's last lap and especially the finishing straight. It was like a wall of sound hitting you. The 4 x 100 relay with Bolt was fantastic as well, and the only shame was a small percentage of the crowd left before Mo's medal ceremony.

Throughout the day I dont think I have seen so many happy and talkative people in the UK for a long time, and I can only hope that if this is what Sport can do, then lets have more of it!

Hopefully the Paraolympics will get the same kind of support

Talk turned to the Paralympics this morning on the news and they were saying only about 150,000 tickets ever got sold for the Beijing ones and so far 2.5 million tickets have been sold for the London one. We have a real history in the UK for our support of the Paralympics and I can't see it being any lesser given its in London.

Glad you had a positive experience Mitz, I had friends who went and one friend had their mum there as a judge at the shooting and they have all reported back that the event was amazing.

Turns out Britain's not actually shite.

Very nice article.
Just a shame they had to cock it up in the last sentence or two by playing politics.

Lazy journalism I agree since a private school wouldn't be forced to sell any grounds off by the very fact that they are private

I see Los Príncipes de las Asturias and the Queen of Spain were refused entry because they didn't have any tickets. No tickets, no entry! Queenie doesn't look best pleased!

They are there at the basketball final! End of third quarter and it's Spain 82, USA 83. Can hardly bear to watch!

Also Sofia was cheering and waving the Spanish flag at the opening ceremony, Liz just looked bored stiff.

They have been at loads of events, British TV seems to be obsessed with them.

They want to make sure that all those foreigners go back home after the Olympics.

So tonight's closing ceremony features the Spice Girls, Jessie J and One Direction.
:fingerscrossed:

Not lazy at all, it is pointing out that the privileged will continue to enjoy better access, irrespective of ownership.

Not lazy,just plain stupid.

They go to a great deal of trouble making a nice article emphasising the success, feel good factor, unity and togetherness surrounding the games, before going into self destruct mode and trying to blow it all apart.

Would have thought at least they'd have enough common sense to wait till after its all done and dusted.
