The UK have put that big navy boat on the Thames to stop any funny business.
I'll have to potter down there one day (before all the nonsense starts). See if Plod arrest me for carrying out potential surveillance!

Let's hope the Olympics is organised as well as the fly past and parade for the Queen today. Whatever you say the UK knows how to put on a show. Our neighbours went and they said it was stunning. The Navy looked particularly smart on these photos.

It would appear that someone has just paid £150,000 for a photograph of an Olympic Torch

We always do, just the heavy roll of fat under the chin of a senior officer much photographed doesnt do much for him, in fact his uniform seems a bit on the tight side.

With all the terrorism threats, it's not a place I would want to be.
No matter who carries them out

I thought that it was common knowledge that the 'Tradition' of carrying the flame along a preordained route from Greece to the seat of the current games was a political ploy arranged the first time by Nazi Germany for the Berlin games in 1936.......Nice to see it kept alive?

It doesn't necessarily mean it's such a bad idea though, and it seems to be extremely popular in the towns its passing through. I get the feeling though that the people who pop along to see it, are the same people who will line the streets just to get a glimpse of the Queen.

If they're flying with the "flame", why not fly direct to London City Airport, which is a lot closer to Stratford? I realise they are hoping people will get more excited as celebrity athletes and local people in turn carry the flame from Cornwall to London. I think they should put hurdles in the road, and have javelin throwers trying to hit them from 130 metres away.

Meanwhile a woman who posted on facebook that they should hold street parties to block the flames passage was visited by Terrorist police. Some of you may wish to edit your posts in view of this

Iraqui war vetran who was blinded carried the torch in Liverpool yesterday. He said it was magical and he was so proud to have been chosen.

I cannot remember a time when someone somewhere wasn't telling us what to do, how to do it, without telling us why
and charging us for the "privelege"
