I don't understand what the problems are living on the Costa del Crime as I lived there from 1989 until 2002 and was alway's in work, that is if you are prepared to work
... and there is a big difference what you want in life
There was and alway's will be plenty of work on the Costa del Crime, if you are a tradesperson you have no problem at all, and if not you might not like the work that you have to do but you can alway's earn money to keep the wolf from the door, and as someone else has previously stated life here is grand

hi rixxy do u do removals as a proffession? we,re hoping to move out there in about a year and my husband is a class 1 hgv removal driver with 20 years experience of export wrapping, shipping etc and he,s looking for work for when we get out there. any companies u could recommend he try bearing in mind he,s TRYING to learn the language
Oh my goodness NO!
Did when I first came uot here to help the hubby out but after selling a property we were asked by the new owner to move a few bits! Nearly killed me!
In fact I finished for the day and went for a large coffee and brandy to get over the shock of it!!
Look through the sur in english - you can get them on the web - and you will see companies offering removals and will need english speakers - the Spanish dont really use removal vans as they tend to diy. And when they buy a nd sell, the furniture stays, saving the need to move anything!
Good luck with it.

Hi Debi - depends if you like your furniture or not! I sold house including contents than came here with a flight load of stuff followed by an estate car full! a month or so later we moved and needed 2 trips in a 7.5 tonner!!!
Carwise I would sell in UK and buy here - better to have a car facing the right way and make sure you have all the correct paperwork on new car!!
There are many properties for rent, some unfurnished but most tend to be furnished or at least part furnished. That way you can bring more of your own stuff, although you will find loads will get thrown out as not suitable ie woolies, wellies and winterwear. Also tight shoes!
