Just heard about a Northern Soul event in Benalmadina 29th October to 5th November anybody know of any other nights, places, events on the Costa??

No, sorry. I am a big fan and used to go to Wigan Casino in it's heyday, also the Golden Torch in Tunstall and Blackpool Mecca, but I have to say I wouldn't go to any of these events, although I know they are very popular in the UK. To me, it's just sad to see all those middle-aged people desperately pretending they are teenagers again! I'll play my music loud and have a dance round my own living room sometimes (hope no-one's looking!) but I have to accept that my days of pulling all-nighters are past!

Have fun, though, if you do go.

Remember back in 1976 when in the forces went to stay with a mate in Wigan for the weekend and had heard all about the all nighters at the casino. We were in the queue at about 1120pm when the early goers were leaving, when another lad from Wigan from our mob turned up and mentioned that after 11 it was soft drink or milk? no beer! but the dancing and musics good. That was it for me left the queue. Mind suppose being a yorkie what could I expect from the Lancastrians lol

Right on, keep the faith, as Dave Godin used to sign off in Blues & Soul Magazine (I just remembered that last night, where does all this useless information stay in the back of our brains? It must be 35 years at least since I last saw a copy1)
