I just don't understand the planners at the town hall as far as shopping is concerned just look at C/ Huelva all those interesting local shops gone no sign of any re-opening. Closer in any shop no matter what they sell that closes reopens as a dress shop how can the town support them, with the biggest Chinese clothes shops rivalling C&A for size. It's all going to end in tears! What Ayamonte should be bidding for at the Poligono is a branch of Aldi and a really good DIY store such as Le Roy Merlin |

` I have to admit having used the Carrefour in Cartaya several times over the years, (though relatively rarely) even though it fair drive, so the new location would attract from a good radius. Bus. This is great news and ... errr.... surprising that LM (who appears positive about this) and I are in agreement after the heated criticisms of Jags and the other bus service, when LM was most active on BE. I don't in any way want to cast aspersions on this positive bus news, in its first week, so am hesitant to post, but there are questions here. The bus is sponsored by CERA. No-one should be anonymously running it. Also if what I heard is true, and not a rumour, that CERA are actually paying a charge for it, then we members need to have transparency with the finances. The last thing we want is concerns about the finances (like those that have been voiced over the EUC finances) I hope we members will get this transparency, given time, and its just that everything is new at the moment. I think its fair to say that it was welcome news, from 'the blue'. Also I accept the use it or lose it but there is a problem. We know the times to town and I naturally assume that about 30 mins or so before, we can pick it up at the station to come into CE. Trouble is that we rarely go to Ayamonte for +/- the whole day, and one would need to do that for a return journey with a morning and evening service. Putting aside the concerns of more 'official shenanigans', the bus service (though great news) isn't really the 'proper' kind of service we need in reality, so Frank still has a good sized hole to fill, with an hourly one. In fact it opens the door further for Frank IMHO. Good luck to both I say. Water Park: Will believe it when I see it, as this is a big investment. If it happens it will give employment and I hope improve the kudos of CE, if it's a luxury one. It might also mean that it will be served by... errr..... a bus service from town!!! If so I think then it would be really churlish then not to continue it a few minutes to feed the (IBI and EUC paying) homeowners in CE! Jon |

Oops I was wrong in the assumption above re the pick up times coming INTO CE...
See attached doc for all the details... Many have got it in their email and I'm posting it as I made an incorrect assumption in the last post + to give all the info. I got it in my inbox after I posted above. Weird routes, I suppose it starts elsewhere when coming to CE ..... and final drop off it goes elsewhere as a late night trip into town after the CE drop off would be handy. The first return ties up witht he last departure to/from CE though. Jon 1ST DEPARTURE: MORNINGS 11:30 h-11:45 2ND DEPARTURE: EVENINGS 19:00 h-19:15 h RETURN FROM AYAMONTE’S BUS STATION 1ST RETURN: EVENINGS 18:30 h TICKET PRICE 1.20€ 2ND RETURN: NIGHTS 22:00 h Services from July 15th to August 31th 1st STOP: VISTA ESURI 3RD STOP: LA COLINA 2ND STOP: LAS ENCINAS 4TH STOP: LOMAS ESURI |

Not sure if this works but see attached the poster for bus in picture format.
I must admit but as I am over here just with my son I found it cumbersome to schedule the time to suit the bus pick up times. But still all the same it's arrival has to be appreciated. Regards Martin |

Just one problem on the route it completely misses the developments up around Tasa which have a lot of full time occupants and it would be easy to stop at the golf club on the way out by the bench just short of the r/about. This was a no brainier really the school buses two of them do this route all year in term one about 14.30 at the shop and the big kids at 15.15. Similar pick ups before school at 8 and 9. So two redundant buses and two redundant drivers from June to September why not tell them to carry on but change the timings a bit. Easy Peasy! Depending on demand the school run also includes the Tasa area. |

I think there could be some better tweaking of the times at no real change to the trips at all... giving more opportunities to take it to/from town. Jon |

Thanks but what I meant was that I thought was the bus started from the station and ended there. So about 30 mins before the CE pick up you got the bus, INTO CE... (the morning) and also that there wasn't advertised a 22:30 bus back into the bus station for the last return.

Jon At the moment people need to use it because the is always a lot of empty seats. |

The tree was my project for the autumn term and the darker nights I have even bought a new blade for the bow saw so thats not needed now. |

At the moment people need to use it because the is always a lot of empty seats. No point in having an empty bus, even if there is one passenger. I assumed this at the start as I assumed that the busses always go between the station and CE, only. Then there was no mention of the 22:30 bus going BACK to the station.. perfect timing for Ayamonte as we know that it all starts 'late' there... so this unmentioned one at 22:30 could be a winner. Thanks for letting us know that they will actually pick up at this unscheduled time. Again this is great news... and as it pans out we see more opportunities, than advertised. I still think the door remains open for an hourly service and really hope Frank is still interested. Jon |
Re: News
On Friday evening (26th July) at 9.30 there is a fund raising event at the church of St Vincent de Paul in Salon, Ayamonte.
There will be a BBQ with Sardines, Pinchitos, Burgers and Tomato Salad and any money raised will go towards stocking the shop with food for the needy. A great evening out and chance to help our friends in Ayamonte :) |

Re: News
Investments in Ayamonte. I mentioned in a former post the water-park was due to open in 2014, due to the slowness of the central government burocracy, it will take a little bit more time...

So I suppose even if they could find a private investor to take the gamble it won't move until things are better. On the other hand Russian Mafia money and brown envelopes seems much easier. Although looking at what the EU DID TO CYPRUS WITH THE HAIRCUT I would think that the Spanish Government would be wary of where the money comes from before they sanctioned that kind of investment. |

Re: News
Whereabouts on the river is the suggested location of the proposed marina? I see the fish farm has closed with 22 people losing their jobs; such a shame. At least a marina and /or water park would provide jobs for the locals. Now......where are my rose tinted specs ?

It was only supposed to close half of the fish farm but I think the owner is the same chap who has been doing all of the engineering work to build a new fish farm from the remains of the old one between Castro Marim and VRStO. Which is odd since he said at the time that he could pull back to half and still get the same throughput due to the warm water produced by electricity generating station. Just to add the Russian financed water park is tucked in behind the south west corner of the marina and the generating station. |

Have a look at page 12 (currently) of this Ayamonte sub forum there is a closed thread Re: el puerto deportivo marina Esuri where there are a few very intelligent replies. One or two have maps attached which show that the marina is to be just upstream of the bridge on the east bank taking up about half of the fish farm. There are photo montages and much more detail so well worth a read of that thread.

I havent had a drink for a bit - but am wondering if someone spiked my coke!!! (As in cola!!) If this is really true.. then all I can say is 'AT LAST' He's gone public, so I hope this means he is committed! See below. Cut from the link above. I saw a pig flying past a blue moon ... then I saw this! Gettin' better all the time Jon COSTA ESURI The bank gaurantees are going to be demanded in the coming weeks and the money will be used to improve, roads, Green áreas and the water treatment. Private 5 million euros Starting first quarter of 2014 |

However I must be missing something big as I don't see this.... 'business case'. Good news (for me) nonetheless, as a potential positive for the future. I am not fussed about the water park, but with an improved CE, it may be good news. No mention of the marina though... the best news (IMHO) for CE after these guarantees come in. I hope all the guarantee money, should it come in, goes to CE.. and the banks insist on that too. Jon |

Well maybe there might be enough of euros left for a permanent bus route to CE !

Kath There should be a clinic, pharmacy. kindergarten and sport facilities. Before the last election both mayoral candidates came to Esuri and laid out the vision which was an initial portacabin provision of a joint clinic, pharmacy and police post. The land for these is set aside just north of the shop and there is already a large concrete hardstanding with foul and surface water drainage where the workers canteen used to be. Electricity used to be by overhead power lines but even that could be linked in to the nearby step down transformer. To me the biggest disappointment is not that the things that should be there are not but that something as simple as a posting box (which I assume Correos would provide at no cost to anyone) is beyond provision. There is a simple cast iron one on a post down at Canela beside the sport facility run by the Ayuntamiento but we are not good enought to have anything. Even the stolen lights cable from motorway to the viaduct has not been replaced so at this time of year it is a very dark and gloomy kilometer on the entrance to our development. |

Re: News
Fantastic !!! This news is wonderful, I had posted on another thread about the Fadesa that bond that was due for CE and I am delighted that the Mayor has gone public to say the money will be directed to "us". Let's hope it is all directed to CE and is spent wisely. Not a McD eater myself but it is great that they are opening a franchise in La Plaza and it is brilliant that private investors are going to build a Water Park at the entrance to CE. I cannot help but say IF, IF and be a little cynical as we have had false promises before but I am hopeful and it is not chinese whispers, the mayor has said this publicly so lets hope he does not renage. Surprised no mention at all was made of the proposed Marina ???
Also hearing that ex-Jags will be opening as a resto called Vista Verde - can anybody confirm this for sure and, if true, when will it be opening ? Mel |

Just looked other thread and have seen your post Mike, thanks for the news on VV

Just checking about the bond; can anyone confirm the amount at I thought it was €6m but the report state €5m ????
Who will decide how and where it is spent on CE ? Thanks Mel |

That of course would not cover the second 4star or the 5star hotels or the shopping centre since they were to be commercial provisions. |
