Hi yes im into them in a small way but enjoy it a another friend is thinking of starting craft holidays as a business what do you think but would like to keep in touch

Craft holidays? Would that be similar to the cooking and painting holidays that have been set up in France? If so I think it may well work especially during the cooler months.

I found in my very short time in spain i was saying hola every minute or so.
I found the locals very friendly and to be honest i also found the brits were very happy and friendly.xxxxxx:)

Jandy I wish I could chuck it all in and do what you are doing... I really wish you luck. Soometimes I think the more assets one has the harder it is to take a risk, for fear of losing it all. I still remember my carefree penniless days in London, cycling everywhere, blagging everywhere. Glad I have a house in Spain to return the favours of the friends who were friends.
Watching this weeks episode of Desperate Housewives on E4.. repeated next week on Channel 4, Weds. I know it's a bit of American nonsense, but there are nuggets of truth in between the convoluted storylines. We all fear change, but one has to use it to one's advantage, as there comes a time when everything has ended and no more change is possible.
Graham I think the Spanish really celebrate life in a way people in Britain have forgotten, and of course they have the long hot summers which help. They are already getting excited about the ferias, Semana Santa etc etc
The numerous Bank Holidays, the zest for living, not always having to be fuelled by copious amounts of alcohol.
Here in London they have cancelled all the outdoor concerts at Kenwood because of complaints by local residents about the noise. At Garsington, a country house opera festival, they also have complaints from the locals.
And go for the craft workshops...I think you may find others are doing them as well. A friend is running flamenco orientated holidays to Seville and Jerez in small groups, and she is also expanding to cover the major festivals.:thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

Hi,
I have done to some, always check facts before you go out and make sure you really trust someone before you go ahead with anything.

My experience of going out was based on what we were told by friends and what actually happened was not the same.

Ours was also lack of planning even though it was 3 years worth but things happened that we did not foresee.

In some ways i am glad as we have learnt valuable lessons but also a part of me was gutted.
It is all fate and it was not our turn this time and maybe next time it will be.

Hi thanks for you reply,I dont watch desperate housewives,I think life is to short to get bogged down with materilistic things,you have only one go on this planet as we know it,and sometimes its better to take risks,I think a favorite quote of mine is ( if you dont change it, things stay the same )and if your not happy with your lot move on.I lost some one very close to me five years ago and that has changed my veiws on life, I think you just have to work with what youv got,Im looking foward to moving to Spain,Im not expecting everything to be a bed of roses,but at the end of the day we just have to take that chance.Its not me who is going to be doing craft workshops.You are right the more you have the less chance your likely to risk it,but if your happy with what you have why change it .At the end of the day we are bogged down in a rat race,no quality time ect.Anyway we will see how the next few months pan out :thumbup:

thailand with my step mother she is a buyer, my dad has retired and plays tennis everyday partys hard so step mum says.
He can be a pain in the ass to try and tame but loves every minute of life.
i just wish i had his energy, must be more like my mother :(
