New here and talking about moving to spain

Be careful with that. If you do a search this subject has come up several times - once resident in Spain you'd have to declare earnings abroad. It may be that you'd offset your uk tax paid against the Spanish, but you'd need to have a decent accountant to advise.

Thats something i have to consider, and another reason why i would maybe close the business and restart in spain, or just find local work. I dont mind, cleaning waitressing etc i will work for minimum wage and dont mind hard work.

I made a quip about "the usual suspects" and you fell straight into it.
You were picky because, as we all know, any tips or advice on threads like this, can apply to people with different circumstances. Plus, nothing will ever apply 100% to another person.
You've made your opinions quite clear on several occasions about me. So no whingeing when you get some back.

Also about stalking you, do you even know what stalking means?
I often see posts on different forums by posters from BE.
They use the same user names, but in your case DBSMarcos/steveideluxe and whatever other names you use, you have been posting the same info, about the business you are buying on other sites.
So please tell me in what way is reading other expat sites, (where you have decided to bare your soul and willing tell anyone who reads it) classed as stalking.
There are far more people reading this site than posters, are you classing them as stalkers, in the same way as you are calling me one for reading another forum?

Also, I have never made one single comment about your business, except to say that it sounds good for you (posted today)
I don´t care enough to comment or wish you luck.
You need to get over yourself.

Good advice, even better advice IMHO is book a rental for6/8 weeks in the winter, Spain can be a very different place then. I think people that move to Spain without experiencing a winter there are often surprised how different it can be. Anyway, the scheme sounds like a disaster waiting to happen to me.

Despite all the advice you seem set to go ahead.Do you realise all the problems with starting businesses, getting even casual work. What about the warnings re schooling?
Are you not prepared to wait till you and your partner are free to do as you please, without risking the effect upheaval will have on your children?
All the publicity about better quality of life etc is nothing if you find you have more problems here than in UK?

Kids have no idea, it would initially seem like a long holiday to them;they would have no knowledge of the issues of health, tax, work etc. Just moving because the kids want to is unrealistic and shortsighted.
The advice given to you here may be unwelcome, but they are telling you what it's really like!
You still haven't said how what you would do about healthcare. Will you stil receive the Family allowance? Have you consulted DWP?Even though you have money coming to you, that's a lot of money to lose.

I remembered reading this when it opened.
Just in time for the Christmas rush, Marks & Spencer have opened a 14,000 sq ft store in La Cañada shopping mall in Marbella. The bright and attractively arranged store is managed by York Marbella SL, the franchise partner of the brand in Gibraltar – where they have been trading successfully for 41 years.

I looked up a pair of shoes on their ES website - €65.
Went down there for other reasons and popped into the store to pick up a pair. €78 - they must be joking!
The online site is really good and you also get all the sale items. If over €99 free delivery. Returns go to La Coruña so relatively cheap postage compared to sending back to UK.

we can get private healthcare if need be. Child benefit will continue on the two youngest.. from what i have read we will still get that.. Not sure about tax credits etc, but am sure we can manage without it.
We dont plan on moving because the kids want to, my husband has worked over 30 years, paid into 3 private pensions and wants to retire in a warm country.. but we want to take the kids with us.. we want to remain close as a family..

And her baby brother would have been called Tinsel.

Why did you ask for advice on here if you seem set on ignoring it?

Am not ignoring advice.. i initially asked for legal requirements.. not whether or not other people "think" i can afford to live there or not.

Of course they do but they have absolutely no idea what sort of life it will condemn them to when they leave school with no worthwhile qualifications and enter a job market where they have almost a certainty of not getting a job.
Do yourselves and your family a favour and don't even think of coming to Spain.
You have nowhere near enough income to support a large family and probably will be refused registration as you have insufficient income and no healthcare provision. Yes you can buy private insurance but for a large family that will be very expensive and every one of you will need to be covered by it to enable you to get registered.
Without proof of income and health insurance that means that your children will not be able to go to school.
The comments on this thread are almost 100% negative from people that DO know what they are talking about. Hopefully you will take their comments on board.
Wait until the kids are out of UK school/Uni with proper qualifications and you are both retired on state pensions.
That will work out fine.
