I am new to Bilbao. I was wondering if there are any English speaking expats here who would like to get together for some drinks or pintxos. I will be getting married this summer to a Vasco and we wanted to live close to his family. I am Canadian, but my origins and English and Bangladeshi. I have lived in Spain for 3.5 years, in Mallorca and Barcelona. Since I have been in Bilbao, I haven´t heard a word of English. Would be nice to make some new English speaking friends.

Not hearing a word of English can be an advantage sometimes!!
I'm English (father was Maltese), married to a Basque since 1975, worked in England in the Agriculture industry, but only retired here in Sept 2009.

Currently learning Basque twice a week, for punishment!!

We live in Elorrio (near Durango), in the house where my wife was born!

We normally come to Bilbao about once every few weeks for a treat.
Perhaps we could meet up then.
Going to Israel next Friday for an 11 day organised trip.
