It means hundreds of people being bused in every day, and hundreds of parked cars tailing half way back to Nerja!
Nobody seems interested in paying for the new parking. I still quite like the place, especially the old part, but like many other places, I much preferred it as it was many years ago.

At least it's not a tacky resort and has kept a great deal of its charm - maybe it's a bit 'NIMBY' not to want to share it with others

you're welcome
When are you coming BTW? Hope it'll be after this rain finally stops - nowhere looks good in this weather!
You may be interested in this webcam to keep an eye on the current weather - it's set up at a restaurant near the town of Periana and looks down over Lake Vinuela and to the coast at Torre del Mar which is just down the coast from Nerja
Normally you can see the lake and Torre really clearly - but on a day like today.....

Ha-ha - it is bleak today - that's why I'm sitting by the fire wrapped in layers of clothes!!!!
You should be fine by June - we'll probably all be complaining about the heat by then!!
Worth looking at the webcam from time to time - the view is just stunning on a clear day - there are probably photos of it elsewhere on the site

Just a mention re parking in Nerja. It is pretty bad. The roads are constantly being altered and the parking spaces become less and less every time they do any roadworks. Yes it is still free to park on the Feria ground, but not always suitable in bad weather if you need to be the opposite side of town. The car parking prices in the Underground parks are ridiculously high. It is the most expensive parking I have encountered in Spain other than the airport. It is much cheaper in Malaga, Marbella, and even Puerto Banus, than Nerja!!!

It is a very beautiful and famous place, because there it was rotated in 1980-81 a series very famous called " Verano azul " (Blue summer)

I first went 10 years ago for a weekend break and loved it. Then I went again in the summer and was shocked at the amount of building work that had taken place. It now looks almost like any other town along the coast.
Although I've been told I should keep these things secret
there is a fantastic walk you can do along the river Chillar from Nerja up into the mountains. You actually walk inside the shallow river for a couple of hours until you get to some rock pools which is a good place to have a picnic. It's not such as secret for the people from Málaga though, it was heaving with Spanish families when we went on a Sunday in the summer. It was a beautiful day out and great to see the kids messing about in the waterfalls and rock pools. If you want less people then go in the week.
The route starts near the old quarry which you can get to by driving from the place where they have the Sunday market.

¿rodar? I´m strugling!
