hi

Sorry to be asking for help already but i need prove that i have no bank account or own a home in the UK. I have phoned the HMRC but they can only prove that i have not paid income tax since i left. Can anyone help with this as the people i Inem have no idea what the paper is that i need to ask for.
Papers, papers and more papers that the only thing i have been doing in my 9 years here in Spain

I would have thought that it was virtually impossible to prove that one does NOT own a UK bank account - there's no formal, central register of bank holders.

Similarly, how can one prove NOT owning a house - these things can be hidden very easily.


Why do you need to prove this?

Is this to prove that you have no other income, savings or investments, other than that which you are already declaring on your Spanish tax returns?

If so, I really think you need to use the services of a gestor to help you fill in the forms and make these declarations, because as snikpoh says, proving you do not have something is pretty near impossible.

Sounds like yet another reason to put you off. Typical.

Better get a Gestor who knows what's required and not, and can tell them to get off thier butts and process the forms without any further bullshit.

In a similar vein, all we had to do here in the UK when we were asked the same question having left Spain, was to sign a declaration, we didn't even need to use a solicitor.

sorry it has taken so long to get back to you all, the paper that i need is the Brit version of the Certificado de Hacienda de Rentas, Bienes y Titularidad de Cuentas, basically what i own of have in the UK. As i have no Home or bank account in the UK, i Have no idea how to prove this. I guess i will have to wait until my wife can talk to Inem tomorrow.
